Low numbers in 2007?

An attempt at comparing this year's figures with the previous nine years

Soon after the beginning of the ringing season on June 30^th the team at the research field station Die Reit noticed that the numbers of birds caught during the first few weeks was very low.
To find out whether these numbers were really below the average we first looked at the absolute numbers of first catches and control catches of the last nine years. This diagram displays a phenomenon we are already aware of: years with good catching numbers alternate with years with bad catching numbers (a general downwards trend can also be recognised).
